Self Esteem & Confidence: Finding Your Way Back To Yourself
You don't have to become someone else to feel good about who you are.
Self esteem & confidence can change throughout a woman's life.
Maybe you grew up believing you needed to be a certain way to be liked, successful, attractive or "good enough". Maybe you've
spent years comparing yourself to other women, questioning your choices, putting everyone else's needs first or being far harder on
yourself than you would ever be toward someone you love.
Sometimes confidence takes a hit after a difficult relationship, becoming a parent, returning to work, changing careers, divorce,
body changes, perimenopause, menopause or simply realizing that the life you built no longer quite feels like yours.
You might find yourself thinking:
- "Why am I so hard on myself?"
- "I don't feel confident anymore."
- "I don't even know who I am outside of being a mom/ wife/ partner/ career person."
- "Everyone else seems to have it together except me."
- "I used to feel comfortable in my own skin."
- "I know what I want to say, but I can't seem to speak up."
- "I keep putting everyone else first."
- "I don't recognize myself anymore."
Confidence Isn't About Never Doubting Yourself
Healthy confidence doesn't mean walking into every room feeling fearless or having an answer for everything.
It's about developing a stronger relationship with yourself, being able to trust your judgement, recognize your strengths, set boundaries,
speak up for what you need & recover when things don't go according to plan.
Counselling can help you explore where self doubt comes from, challenge the inner critic, develop greater self compassion &
reconnect with the values & parts of yourself that may have been pushed aside.
